     Hell's Cathedral is a low-polygon environment inspired by Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo series and Gothic architecture in general. The art direction I chose was to achieve something dark and eerie similar to the general atmosphere of Diablo I and II, but also utilizing the more saturated color palette that's found in what the public has seen so far of Diablo III.

 

     The entire scene is comprised of approximately 32,000 triangles. All textures have been hand-painted without use of photographic sources. Diffuse and glow maps are used ranging in sizes of 256x256 and 512x512.
